Breeding, shipping and processing of semen,  is handled by our onsite veterinarian, Dr. Nicholas Carney, DVM MS, Davis, Ca (specializes in Equine Reproduction). 

Responsible Breeding doesn't just Happen.... A great deal of thought, studying of pedigrees and a review of each foal when they are adults, mixed with many an educated guess and a dash of luck, all go into the genetic melting pot that results in the birth of a healthy successful foal.  

.Every year we breed, import and sell more than 20 quality foals out off the best Friesian mother lines worldwide. If you are looking for a broodmare in foal or other breeding stock, please feel free to contact us. We have studbook with talent,, Ster or even Model mares for sale. Occasionally, we  have horses from our "Private Reserves", and many top horses sell fast and never see our website, so ask if you have a special request.. We can truly offer you the best Friesians in the World- Pinto or all Black.   

Breeding Farm

Your mare will love staying at our "Four Seasons" , 16' x 16' large matt stalls heaped up in lots of lofty shavings to keep her comfortable.  While here, she will enjoy Susan and her staff's pampering with all the luxuries abound.  Gourmet Friesian nutrition, daily handling, grooming, braiding, and turn outs, "Rain Mist" showers, bathing;  and pedicures upon request..

 "Exquisidry in Motion"-- Excalibur Horses are breeding higher quality successful horses for Today's Horse Enthusiast . Located near sensational San Francisco in N. California, we are breeding  registered Friesian horses of exceptional lines from Studbook & Ster mares. Both domestic & European Friesian & Pinto Friesian Stallions are sires to our foals. Foals are imprinted at birth & trained with kindness, love & a little bit of discipline. We are proud of this magnificent breeds' versatility & magnetism & for the joy they bring in everyday life.  We love to have visitors & enjoy sharing our love of horses with others.  

 

Training
Over the years, the staff at Excalibur and their Dutch team have thoroughly proven their professionalism. We have one of the highest success rates in the industry, whether it be at the stallion approval tests, the mare inspections, IBOP test,  and in competitions for young horses, the Excalibur and client's horses are regularly placed. 

 Every August, we offer keuring preparation/training and presentation for clients for the annual FPS/FHANA keurings/judging's.  In 2010 and 2011 we took home best of show and Reserve Champions, as well as many other awards.   Stallion Candidates- 1st Premium. Sales
We know better than anyone how important it is that a client finds a horse that suits them; how important it is that you get a good & honest opinion about the horses we offer for sale. Most of our horses are from our own breeding program or bought as a foal so we know the history off the horses we offer.
