Mewes was born in 2004 in Terwispel, Netherlands, from the family G.J. v.d. Linden. Mewes comes from the motherline/stam 82 (Zwaantje). Out of this stamline comes the approved stallions Ysbrand 238 and Freark 218. Mewes comes from the very beautiful Friesian type 1P Star mare- Oekje-Vrouwkje. Oekje was this year's Breeding Day Champion at the keuring in Drachten (it Greid Hynder). Oekje has passed a A.F.B.T test with a good score of 74.5 points. Oekje is also the mother of the champions Feikje-Vrouwkje and Rixt-Vrouwkje, as well as Mewes. Thus for Oekje at a young age, it seems no problem to become Preferent.
Mewes grandmother is the Preferent mare Weminette, with 5 Star offspring already. Her father is the Preferent Friesian Jewel- Leffert Pref. The full sister to the mother of MEWES, Klavervrouwkje, is Z2 (3rd level dressage). Pleuntje-Vrouwkje (v. Djurre) is also a 1P Star mare and was best carriage horse of 2003 from the breeders of North-South Holland. Further back in the pedigree, is also a beautiful Star mare from Nanno, called Jemkje-Vrouwkje, who is also winning in carriage/show driving.
The grandmother of Mewes is the 1P Star mare Karinnete. Karinnete is a daughter from one of the most handsome stallions in the breed, called Dimer. Dimer is also seen in the pedigree of the approved stallion Heinse. Karinnete on her 16-yr birthday received a 1P in Germany and on her 17 yr birthday, received a 1P and Breeding Day Champion in Germany.
A very strong mother line which breeds with each stud well and several champions - Breeding Friesian type and winning sport lines has developed the breed that can certainly be called unique. Also the blood advancement of the father line with the exterior - and sport titles- Teeuwis - Oege Pref. - Leffert Pref. and Dimer stand to guarantee for genetic success. |
